Vegan chocolate bars have become widely available online and in supermarkets. While dark chocolate oftentimes already is "accidentally vegan" as it does not need any milk or vegan "milk" as ingredient, the selection of flavours has been constantly increasing over the last few years. For vegans this is obviously good news! When the first vegan "milk" chocolates came out a few years ago, the recipes were not perfect yet, and they often did not taste like "real" chocolate. Especially non-vegans tended to tell me that they would prefer traditional chocolate. Now, good-quality chocolate should really be creamy and smooth and melt on the tongue - so can vegan chocolate achieve this? Well yes! We have found some amazing alternatives to traditional chocolate, which are our favourites! We are going to present these to you below.
1) Vego Hazelnut Chocolote Bar - Organic
The Vego Hazelnut Chocolate Bar is available on Amazon in two sizes. We generally buy the "mini" 65g size. The larger size is 150g, but the 65g is perfect for a snack during the day! This product is our absolute favourite. It has a lot of flavour but is not too sweet. We loved the whole hazelnuts in this chunky bar. Our non-vegan friends love them as well. It is important to mention that this product is also Organic and Fairtrade, which is fantastic.

2) Galaxy Caramelised Hazelnut Vegan Chocolate
Our second favourite is the Galaxy Chocolate in Caramelised Hazelnut flavour. It is not organic, unfortunately, but full of taste! It is quite thin, especially if you compare it to the chunky Vego chocolate bar, but very crispy due to the addition of small caramelised hazelnuts. It is very smooth and melts perfectly in your mouth. We believe this is due to the addition of hazelnut paste, which creates the perfect texture of this fantastic chocolate.

3) Ombar Cocomylk Bean to Bar Super Chocolate
Our third favourite is the Ombar Cocomylk Bean to Bar Chocolate, which contains 55% cacao, it is organic and Fairtrade. All of this is fantastic. What we are missing in this chocolate is the crispy flavour that you get from nuts, but we also know that nuts are not for everybody. We find that of all the vegan chocolate bars we have tried so far, this one is the best vegan chocolate that does not contain any nuts. This chocolate is also classed as "raw", as it contains raw cacao and it contains live cultures, which makes the chocolate indeed a healthier option than alternatives.
