This is a question that comes up less in recent times but I am still asked by friends or followers where they can buy vegan sweets. Now, many years ago you had to go to specialist vegan stores or health food stores to find some vegan sweets. These vegan sweets were oftentimes not very exciting and sometimes only a bad copy of "traditional" sweets. Gummy bear copies without gelatine often sticked to your teeth and vegan chocolate was only available in 1 or 2 flavours.
Luckily, things have changed in recent years! You can now get vegan sweets anywhere. Very recently, major UK supermarket chains have announced that they introduce aisles only for vegan products and sweets. While this is fantastic, I have been used to this from my visits in Germany (I have family in Germany), where this has been happening for the last few years already. Generally, with regards to veganism and vegan products, Germany seems to be slightly ahead of the UK. This, however, shows me where we are heading to, and I like this. I think in the future, vegan sweets (and vegan food in general) will be in every supermarket, which then will allow you to buy vegan sweets everywhere. However, without any doubt the selection is greater if you choose to buy online. This is purely due to the fact that many smaller brands/companies/manufacturers do not get the chance to be listed by major supermarket chains.
There are a few places online that we use when we buy vegan sweets. We can recommend all of these:
1) Vantastic Foods
Vantastic foods have more than 2,000 products listed and belong to Europe´s largest vegan food retailers
2) Amazon
3) The Vegan Kind Supermarket
On these three marketplaces you should find everything you need!
